感謝中華民國四健會協會提供我這個交國際筆友的機會，讓我可以參加此次交換筆友活動，這是我第一次參加有關筆友的活動，我迫不及待想分享台灣獨特的文化和事物、我的夢想、未來規劃以及感受彼此的文化差異，給那位素未蒙面的筆友。

此次的筆友活動，讓我正視到自己的英文程度在寫作基礎部份十分薄弱，常在回英文書信時，忘了某個單字的拼字，或不常用的單字需要字典來幫忙。努力了很久以為完成了一篇長文，但其實也才不到八十個英文字，相對美方代表的回信而言，就顯得十分粗糙，但在幾次練習之後，英文文字能力的表達就進步了許多，在這個過程中，我也刻意去蒐集資料，去介紹關於台灣的獨特文化與特色。

我的筆友來自遙遠的卡羅萊那州，有一個哥哥和一個妹妹，是個高三生，志向是未來希望能讀農學系，她的興趣是讀書和爬山。但我們只有通信幾次，她就好似人間蒸發了一般，就再沒有回信，雖然我一直持續地寫信，想和她連絡。剛開始是她先寫信來的，我很高興筆友也很熱衷於這筆友活動，但其實她只有三分鐘熱度，寫了幾次，再也沒有收到她的回信，那時我三兩天就檢查電子信箱，生怕會錯過每一封信，在漫長的等待中，這筆友交流的時間就這麼快地結束了，但這幾次的交流中，我有特別介紹台灣的過農曆新年、元宵燈會、放天燈等民俗文化，也讓我更欣賞與認識台灣這些傳統文化。

Thanks to National 4-H Club Association, R.O.C. which providing me with the opportunity to make international pen pals, this is my first time to participate in the pen pal program, I can't wait to share Taiwan's unique culture and things, my dreams, and future plans and feel each other's cultural differences, to the unmasked pen pal.

This pen pal activity made me face up to the fact that my English level is very weak in the basic part of writing, and often when replying to English letters, I forget the spelling of a single word, or the words that are not commonly used need the dictionary to help. A long article that I have worked hard for a long time to complete, but in fact, it is only less than eighty English characters, which is very rough compared to the reply of the US representative. However, after several exercises, the expression of English writing ability has improved a lot, and in the process, I have also deliberately collected information to introduce the unique culture and characteristics of Taiwan.
