這次的筆友活動令我印象深刻，也因為這次的活動學習了許多，但這期間也遇到了許多困難。我想要靠自己的力量寫完一封信，但當我遇到不會的單字是必須靠Google翻譯才能完成，我希望我下次参加同様的活動時可以用更長的語句，及更深奧的用語完成一封信的寫作。

這次活動可能是我有生以來第一次在生活中大量活用英語的字詞和文法，雖然我所使用的都是一些簡短又簡單的字句和文法，但我也很怕自己寫錯。我與筆友的第一封信聊起了我們各自的興趣，但我們都使用非常簡短的字句。

在通信中我也認識了許多美國文化以及當地的學制，我曾經告訴筆友台灣很注重作業和考試，我的作業每天需要一到兩個小時才做得完，而且有時候還會做超過兩個小時；而他的回應是在美國不用做這麼多的作業，而且也不需要有這麼多的考試，每天最多一個小時内就可以完成作業，令我羨慕不已。

另外，我也曾經詢問過他美國所吃的主食是什麼？是跟台灣一樣的稻米還是其他的食物？他耐心地告訴我，他們所吃的主食是馬鈴薯。此外，我們還聊了許多其他的事物，例如寵物的照顧以及雙方的家鄉各種不同的様貌...等等，令我獲益良多。在交流的過程中，我發現英文真的很重要，而活用它更是一件重要的事，如果以後出去國外，平常卻沒有活用英語時，會發現容易造成許多尷尬的現象，像是在寫信時，我常會以台灣人的思維寫英語，但殊不知外國人的思維模式並不是我們所想像的那樣。

I once wrote to my pen pal that Taiwan is very focused on homework and exams.My homework takes an hour to two hours a day to complete, sometimes more than two hours. And his response is that the United States does not have to do so much homework and does not need to do so many exams. The homework can be completed in at most an hour a day. That made me envious.
